6 Day Itinerary



Day 1: Auckland *(D)

Welcome to the beautiful city of Auckland, often referred to as the 'City of Sails', because one out of every six residents has a boat!  This is New Zealand's largest city and the international gateway for all flights arriving from the northern hemisphere.  Your personal chauffeur will be waiting to welcome you at arrivals, before heading off to the Copthorne Hotel in Parnell to freshen up.

You have a choice of three activities to full the rest of the afternoon.
1.
Enjoying some of our southern ocean marine life at Kelly Tarltons and discover some of the great names of New Zealand's aviation and motor history at the Museum of Transport and Technology (Motat, for short). Then you make your way up Auckland’s Skytower, the southern hemispheres tallest building at 328 meters, offering breathtaking views for up to 80 kilometers in every direction on a clear day. Have a go at beating the machines in the casino before heading back up the tower for a buffet dinner.

2. Take a 45 min ferry ride to Waiheke Island, taste boutique wines and sample olive oils and honey on a vineyard & winery tour or take to the sea on a guided excursion sea kayaking (weather permitting).  Then you make your way up Auckland’s Skytower, the southern hemispheres tallest building at 328 meters, offering breathtaking views for up to 80 kilometres in every direction on a clear day. Have a go at beating the machines in the casino before heading back up the tower for a buffet dinner. 

3. Head to Auckland Museum where they are recognised as holding national and international significant collections and tells a story of New Zealand and its place in the Pacific and its people. Then you make your way up Auckland’s Skytower, the southern hemispheres tallest building at 328 meters, offering breathtaking views for up to 80 kilometers in every direction on a clear day. Have a go at beating the machines in the casino before heading back up the tower for a buffet dinner.

Day 2:  Auckland – Waitomo – Rotorua *(B, L, D)

This morning you travel south towards the limestone landscape of the Waitomo Caves, which has been artfully sculpted by water and time. See glow-worms light the caves, like constellations in the night skies - definitely worth the visit.  Lunch at Huhu Cafe before we head to the geo-thermal city of Rotorua, right in the heart of New Zealand’s North Island.

Once in Rotorua either travel up Rotorua’s Skyline Gondola for stunning panoramic views over the lakes and town, and for excitement take a luge ride down 1/3 tracks (weather permitting) and enjoy dinner at the Gondola Restaurant at the top of the mountain.
Or
Be pampered at the Polynesian Spa, voted one of the top 10 health spas of the world in 2004-2007 and 2009.  There is an enticing range of spa therapies, including massage, mud baths and body wraps.  Dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Day 3: Rotorua – Queenstown *(B, D)

This morning you head for the incredibly unique "globe riding" adventure activity Zorbing, roll down a massive hill at high speeds.  Visit Wai-o-Tapu Thermal Wonderland, with thousands of years in the making.  Making this one of New Zealand’s most colourful volcanic environments. Then jump aboard a plane to the ‘Adventure Capital of the World’ Queenstown.  Freshen up at the hotel, before heading up Queenstown’s Skyline Gondola for a spectacular view of the lakes and towns.  Enjoy a sumptuous dinner in the Skyline Restaurant.

Day 4: Queenstown - Milford Sound *(B, D)

Your day begins with a spectacular helicopter ride to the Milford Sounds.  This flight will astound you, gaze upon alpine lakes, lush rainforests, and fly past rugged peaks before landing and joining an exploratory nature cruise on the sound.   View cascading waterfalls, sheer rock faces and unique wildlife, before re-boarding your helicopter bound for a picnic at Hidden Lakes in Fiordland (weather permitting).  Then get the blood pumping by jumping on the Shotover Jet, a thrilling jet boat experience that races through narrow canyons, with over 2 million people having ridden ‘Big Red’.  This evening is free to enjoy a walk around sightseeing or to relax in the spectacular surroundings. Dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Day 5: Queenstown *(B, D)

Today your day begins with an exhilarating tandem skydive from 15,000ft above the most breathtaking scenery in the world, just to waken you up. (Weather permitting),
Then
Get the blood pumping at Canyon Swing, as you leap from the 109 metre high cliff edge, gravity accelerates you for 60 metres of freefall just metres from the vertical cliff face. Reaching speeds of 150kph as the canyonous rocks rush towards you before the ropes smoothly swing you past.
Then
Make your taste buds come alive with a wine tour, sample unique wines and foods exclusive to the southern region.

Lunch on the TSS Earnslaw, (if weather condition are bad).

Day 6: Queenstown - Auckland  *(B)

(Flight times are required, to liaise with the flight from Auckland to your destination depending on time). 

 

This does not include your flight fare from U.S.A.-N.Z.
