7 Day Itinerary


Day 1: Auckland *(D)

Welcome to Auckland, often referred to as the 'City of Sails', because one out of every six residents owns a boat!  New Zealand's largest city and the international gateway for all flights arriving from northern hemisphere.  Your tour guide will welcome you at the Auckland Airport arrivals.  You will then continue on to the Copthorne Hotel in Parnell to freshen up before spending the afternoon enjoying some of our southern ocean marine life at Kelly Tarlton’s underwater world.

This evening is free to relax and settle in.

Day 2: Auckland *(B, D)

Today we discover the great names of New Zealand's aviation and motor history at the Museum of Transport and Technology (Motat for short). Then we tiki tour (sightsee) our way back to Auckland CBD, we stop at One Tree Hill.  Next, we hit the high street stores of Queen Street and Chancery Lane, where you will find boutiques featuring many New Zealand designers.  Then make your way up Auckland’s Skytower, the southern hemispheres tallest building at 328 meters, offering breathtaking views for up to 80 kilometers in every direction on a clear day.  Have a go at beating the machines in the casino before heading back up the tower for a buffet dinner.

Day 3: Auckland - Waitomo - Rotorua *(B,D)

This morning we travel south towards the limestone landscape of the Waitomo Caves, which has been artfully sculpted by water and time.  See glow-worms light the caves, like constellations in the night skies - definitely worth the visit.  Next the geo-thermal city of Rotorua, right in the heart of New Zealand’s North Island. Discover volcanic phenomena and learn about New Zealand's Maori culture.  Travel up Rotorua’s Skyline Gondola for stunning panoramic views over the lakes and town.  For the adventurous, ride the thrilling luge down 1 or all 3 tracks.

Day 4: Rotorua *(B, D)

Today you will depart for Te Wairoa 'The Buried Village', showing you first hand the chaos and mayhem that transpired on the night Mount Tarawera erupted.  Next stop Rainbow Springs Kiwi Wildlife Park, featuring kiwi, trout, tuatara, pigs, sheep, native birds and trees and New Zealand’s only ‘open to view’ kiwi hatchery and rearing facility.  Then it’s off to Agrodome for a unique farming experience. Later, unwinding at The Polynesian Spa which was voted one of the top 10 health spas of the world in 2004-2007 and 2009.  There is an enticing range of spa therapies, including massage, mud baths and body wraps.

 Day 5: Rotorua – Queenstown *(B, D)

This morning we visit Wai-o-Tapu Thermal Wonderland.  With thousands of years in the making, this is one of New Zealand’s most colourful volcanic environments.  Then jump aboard a plane to the ‘Adventure Capital of the World’ Queenstown.  Freshen up at the hotel, before taking a helicopter ride over Mt Cook and Mt Tasman. See the fabulous Franz Joseph Glacier and the Fox Glacier.  Back in Queenstown, ride up the mountain for some of the most spectacular 220 degree views that you could ever see, on the Skyline Gondola. This evening is free to enjoy a walk around sightseeing or to relax in the spectacular surroundings.

Day 6: Milford/Doubtful Sound *(B, D)

Today begins with a spectacular helicopter ride to the Milford Sound’s.  This flight will astound you. Gaze upon alpine lakes, lush rainforests and fly over rugged peaks.  Join an exploratory nature cruise on the sound.   View cascading waterfalls, sheer rock faces and unique wildlife.                                   

A free night to relax and pack your bags.

Day 7: Queenstown - Auckland  *(B)


(Flight times are required, to liaise with the flight from Auckland to your destination depending on time).

Approx distance 300 km the rest by plane.

If a single room is required for accommodation an extra $500 cost is added to the tour.
